Minimum admission criteria set by SANC.

To qualify for admission, applicants must have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification at exit level 4, including Grade 12 with subjects such as Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy, Physical Sciences/Science, Biology/Life Science, and English (minimum D symbol), as per NEI selection criteria. Additionally, candidates with a health-related qualification at NQF Level 4 may also apply. Applicants over the age of 23 must meet institutional conditions and apply for conditional exemption. For learners who matriculated before or after 2008, the institution follows a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process to assess eligibility for admission.
